I’m at least a month late on this review. By the time I was halfway through this book I was already thinking about cancelling my second degree fund that with Rise lol that’s how motivated I felt!. By the time completed the book though, I had enough time to calm down and process the advice and principles Josh Kaufman was preaching properly.
Josh Kaufman, the author tried to make some really good points on why masters degree programs in Ivy league schools and all the advanced learning institutions is such a complete waste of time and resources that could be spent doing the actual work of gaining experience in business instead. He made some very solid points. Infact he sold his market very very well and I was impressed so much that I learnt a number of things from what he shared. His main point in the whole book was that if you want to master the art of business, you don’t have to go to business school and I agree with him.
The irony of it all for me though is that he ended up doing what he was advising us not to pay for, he was teaching about business in the book. All the key points and masterclass mind-blowing strategies he was sharing in the book are also concepts you pick up from educating yourself on the know-hows of business from places like business school. But I guess his approach which I still agree with is that you can work on self development and get the same value of knowledge you’d get from business school, but everyone knows business school is more about networking and enabling opportunities than anything else.
I’ll give it to him though. Great book. I’d read the book again if I could. But I’m keeping my second degree fund haha.
I rate it 7/10.
